Up until this year we went every other weekend from Memorial Day to Thanksgiving. This year we have been out three times. Might get out three more.

RE: Is my inverter too big?

I have two little 65 watt cigarett lighter inverters. I can run the dvd player and the flat screen off of one..I was surprised as well. I use the other as needed to run the laptop or the canopy lights or the small bedroom fan. Everything else in my rig except for the microwave and the air conditioner runs on 12 volts or gas. Even with this small drain, in three days my batteries were pretty low. So I guess the main question would be ..What are you going to do with 3,000 watts?

RE: Brake fire question

I tought my kids incase of fire "GET OUT". If on your way out you need to break out a window..throw the fire extinguisher. There is nothing inside I want bad enough to risk lives.

RE: Should I buy a back up fridge for cheap?

For $60 you could sell it on Ebay for more and buy some extra gum wrappers and lint.

RE: RV furnace venting

I would assume that your addition is going to have electric service to it. Electric is way easier to mantain than the gas and less expensive I would guess. Plus the other comments made.

RE: winter camping

I think you will have more a problem find a camp grounds that is open during the winter months. This has been my problem...I insulated and enclosed my tanks, installed tank heaters, both 12 volt and 120 volt, Added heat tape to the pipes, both 12 volt and 120 volt. insulated the pipes, got a dehmidifier, added extra heat ducts for the basement, put in remote compartment thermometers and finally installed a quick winterization kit just in case...Come to find out it is next to impossible to find a camp ground that is open beyond Thanksgiving.

RE: onan holding start button

I had the same problem. It would run while holding the start button but wasn't making power. I put a new brush kit in mine. Haven't had the problem since.

RE: P30 a/c vacuum cutout

Got the same problem in my 1992 P30..it's most likely the vacuum check valve..I haven't checked mine out yet. I'm pretty sure they didn't put in a compressor cut out on a 454..lack of power is not ussually an issue.

RE: Intro and DIY "Wanna-B" Fabrication/Mat'ls Qs

I converted a 1990 Dodge van. It came with an electric bed. I added cabinetry, stove, refrigerator, water, auxilary batteries and inverter/converter and outside shower. I had the equipment to fabricate the cabinetry and the mechanical skills to do the work. As far as the wall panels, it came with fabric covered walls. I had to make templates of the curved walls and make cabinets to fit. Was pretty easy but time consuming. Unfortunately I never took pictures of the operation.

RE: 12 volt generator idea

"A" battery. One battery. Most of us have several, so this idea, although clever, would be running far too long for most of us noise police. Most altenators put out between 60 and 120 amps most chargers do not.

RE: HD LCD TV -- Not what model, but IF ...

Bouncing around inside a motorhome or trialer is not gong to hurt a tv. Im pretty sure they are shipped via truck. Banging them around is another story.

RE: Question

Duncan Glass.. I got a quote from a local glass companies $600 labor and mateials no deductable. My insurance company points me to Duncan glass. Now the bill from Duncan Glass is for $1,300. My deductable is $500 which I end up shelling out to Duncan Glass. We know its worth $600 because I got the quote. My guess is Duncan Glass inflates the cost, collects the deductable and calls it even steven to the insurance company and the insurance company pays out nothing. Heres another scenario. If DG's bill is really $1,300 I pay $500 and the insurance Co pays $800 they paid out $200 more than if they just paid the local guy his entire bill. Something just dont add up...

RE: Seasonal campsites

There are quite a few in the area. Brennans beach has lots of ammenaties, pool, lake, club house, full hookups, concrete pads and more. Very nice. Capt Daves (used to be Cannons) has water and electric. Stonies..full hookups sort of, 30 amp service puts out about 11 amps, sewer backs up and I wouldn't drink the water. Nice people fun place to stay during salmon season. In Mexico, Jellysone, Water and electric about 20 minutes from Pulaski. I would try for Brennans you get the best services for your money.. If your a salmon fisher drop me a note. I fish the Salmon river from August till February and camp at all these spots.

RE: Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort Marion, NC

Not all Jellystone's are alike, however with this park their are plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied. They also have a gigantic waterslide that the kids love Agreed
